Panicked Tapping, Calm Tapping

Moon card
We humans are strange, contrary creatures, or is it just me?  Finally moved house, and though it's been hectic and hard work, overall I'm feeling quite peaceful and calm about it.

However, as per the plan I'd decided on a couple of weeks ago, with the moving men (if not the boxes) gone, on Wednesday night I ate a hotter-than-normal curry and had hot sex with my DH, to encourage the baby on his way.  Then, when he started wriggling around a lot, I started panicking about not being ready for him to come.

And so, at three in the morning on Thursday, I sat on the toilet and decided to combine hypnobirthing affirmations with tapping.  Did a round each with phrases such as: "my baby is born at the best possible time for a natural, easy and quick birth" and "with each surge I know that soon I will see my baby".  Not sure it was more effective than just listening to an mp3 of the affirmations, but I certainly felt a lot calmer by the end of it, and slept a little more.

The Empress
Since then, I've done this tapping every night when I wake and go to the toilet.  Last night, we made love again, and I had some full-blown contractions.  Although today would not be a good day for the baby to come, I felt excited rather than anxious.  So, it's definitely been a worthwhile practice :D

I am looking forward to the birth of my second son, and to the time of nurturing to come.  I just received the Psychic Tarot for the Heart Oracle (Hay House, 2014), and so decided to pick a couple of cards from it to illustrate this post.  I like the Moon card, showing a man confronting his shadow, to represent my fears.  And I hope that I can move forward Empress-like from now on :)

  1. HA HA There is a lot of heat radiating from this post :D
I am glad things are settling down so you can focus on the mommy part for now.
Beautiful cards ( do you recommend this deck?)

    1. Tee hee, the hot parts have been rather nice :) Last night I even made time to give my DH a massage, as he was feeling stressed and tight from the move and all those boxes he's not letting me carry.
As for the deck, I haven't even looked through all the cards yet. It's just that most of my decks are still packed, so I opened this one up and plunged in. Still, I rather like what I've seen so far - some interesting twists, and quite pleasant artwork. Like his other deck, though, it doesn't have any court cards...

  2. Well even though the baby hasn't arrived yet, I'm sure your husband is enjoying "christening" the new house with these exercises! :D I'll be sending positive, calming thoughts your way for all of you.

  3. I. am. so. thrilled for you! I love this attitude you have toward this. It's certainly a rite of passage, especially given the fears you had around it. I really feel like you're burning through those fears. With hot sex and curry, no less!!! I love this. I will be thinking of you and sending positive wishes.
    XOXOXOX

    1. Thanks, MM. The attitude comes and goes - today I feel tired, worried that labour hasn't started yet, but also wondering if this is just the way things are meant to be. After all, I've been tapping for my baby to be born at the best possible time for a natural, rapid and healthy birth. Doesn't mean it'll be the most convenient time (which would be today) :D

  5. I can so relate to the wanting to get on with things and then panicking when they start to happen. I was always like that too. I'm glad to hear the tapping has brought you some peace and calm.

    1. Well, it comes and goes a bit. Different things to worry about keep coming up (isn't that just the way life goes). Overall, though, I think the tapping has helped :)
