Oracle of the Water

Being a total Jasmine Beckett-Griffith fan, I couldn't resist her latest deck, Myths and Mermaids: Oracle of the Water (Blue Angel, 2015).  Especially given my own tricky relationship with this fluid, hard-to-pin down element of emotions.

It arrived today, and my first draw was just perfect: Mother and Child.  Today, my elder son goes into hospital, so my kids are definitely top of my mind.  It's interesting, too, that this is the only almost black-and-white card in the deck.  Sometimes, it is that simple - there is nothing else more important to me!

Word for the Year

I've decided not to do a workbook for the year, nor set any resolutions.  Not that I don't have plans or hopes, far from it!  It's almost more that things feel so clear to me this year, I don't need the paraphernalia.  I know what I want to do, I've got a timeline in mind, I know the actions I need to take to get from here to there.  Some of it is written in various documents on my computer, other bits are just in my head, but it feels like it's all there.

What I did decide to do, though, was choose a word for the year.  And the word is:

I want to feel a sense of achievement: to do what I plan, and feel good about it…

Love this quote I found.  Not sure what exactly I'll become through achieving my goals this year, but I look forward to finding out :)
