Oracle of the Water

Being a total Jasmine Beckett-Griffith fan, I couldn't resist her latest deck, Myths and Mermaids: Oracle of the Water (Blue Angel, 2015).  Especially given my own tricky relationship with this fluid, hard-to-pin down element of emotions.

It arrived today, and my first draw was just perfect: Mother and Child.  Today, my elder son goes into hospital, so my kids are definitely top of my mind.  It's interesting, too, that this is the only almost black-and-white card in the deck.  Sometimes, it is that simple - there is nothing else more important to me!

  1. Hopefully everything goes well today. Yes, children are always the most precious ones. And when they are all grown up they still are.
I like her art too and still have her vampires oracle on my wishlist

    1. It all ended well, though there was a lot of "hurry up and wait" - four hours in hospital and the actual "procedure" took less than a minute! Anyhow, I'm glad it's done. As for Jasmine B-G, in some ways her vampire deck is my least favourite. We'll see how I feel about this one - it's doing well so far… :)

    2. Maybe I will stick with my first two then: Shadows and light and the Shapeshifters :)

    3. I think the Shapeshifters is still my favourite! :)

  2. Google seems to be eating my posts again; please delete if you get two from me. :)
May your son benefit from those who attend to him today!
The color scheme seems perfect for a mother child relationship - very primal. Especially on an emotional level, things can be black and white when a child is involved, depending on whether there is help or harm, encouragement or cruelty.

    1. Very true, Bev. I also like how the mother and child look so similar. A reminder to me that we need to pay attention to both similarities and differences - our children are not our "mini-me's"!
